SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), March 11 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia decided to limit some food exports to prevent potential shortages, the government said on Friday, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine entered its third week.

The country is limiting exports of wheat, barley, corn, wheat flour, sunflower seeds, as well as sunflower oil, the government said in a statement.

The curbs are meant to protect domestic production, the domestic market and the citizens, the government said, adding that there are sufficient reserves of all of the food products.

Earlier this week, the government decided to remove VAT and freeze margins on sales of bread, sugar, flour, sunflower oil, milk, meat, rice and eggs.
