Ergonomic, safe, and easy to install on existing lines

Sacmi announced that its Flexi Opera RF is an answer to a market in continuous evolution, which requires high performance and maximum versatility in the management of materials and sizes. The company said that with Flexi Opera, the customer invests in the high-quality and mechanical efficiency of Sacmi products, maximizing productivity and minimizing consumption and maintenance costs.

Founded in 1919, Sacmi is an international manufacturer of machines and complete plants for the ceramic tile, beverage, packaging, quality control process, chocolate processing machines, and plastics industries.  Sacmi  is a group based in Imola, Italy, and has branches worldwide, including India.

According to Sacmi, versatility is the strength of this solution. It is suitable for handling both glass, metal and plastic, and RefPET cylindrical and shaped containers. In addition, it  said the machine is easy to install on existing lines – the frame is similar in every configuration both for clockwise or anticlockwise movements – the machine meets all production requirements, with the possibility to mount several roll-fed labeling units.

In this configuration, brushless motors limit electricity consumption, while the glue unit equipped with an internal recycling system reduces waste and consumption, according to Sacmi. Moreover, its construction and reduced footprint complete the solution, with a vacuum drum 40% smaller than the competition, for better performance and lower consumption and emissions.

The company said Flexi Opera RF sums up Sacmi’s logic in developing a new generation of labeling machines that focus on process quality and operator safety. Ergonomic design, easy access to fundamental parts of the machine, and reduced changeover times characterize the solution, which Sacmi certifies with over 98% efficiency on each individual reel’s use.

Flexi Opera RF is available with the Sacmi LVS (label vision system) for direct in-line quality control and correct label application. The new HMI interface allows advanced monitoring functions to the operator, and due to intuitive synoptic reports also available remotely. In addition, Sacmi guarantee in the management of the process total quality control.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.

It is the right time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative and technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can power Packaging South Asia’s balanced industry journalism and help sustain us by subscribing.
